Many customers contact us with questions about what type of Irish Linen tablecloth to buy and how to decide on size, pattern etc.
In terms of pattern it's all a matter of taste. But we're finding that our Etamine range is becoming very popular - especially our natural coloured tablecloths and matching napkins.
But Irish Linen damask is still in considerable demand. The Celtic patterns aren't quite as popular as they used to be but Satin Band and Chrysanthemum patterns are bought by celebrities and royalty alike. The Irish diaspora still order Celtic and Shamrock patterns. And, of course, any Irish Linen Tablecloth with matching napkins will appear on most wedding lists. Irish Linen has become a generic term meaning the best table linen that money can buy.
In terms of size, we recommend a minimum of around 10cm overhang over the edge of the table. So add around 20cm to the length and width of the table to compute the optimal size of cloth.
