The Linen Blue

The Linen Blue
Linenblue is named after the flower of the flax plant - the symbol of Northern Ireland. The first wave of the industrial revolution was about cloth - and the linen mills of Ireland were at the heart of that revolution. Flax growing became so popular here in Ireland that it's said that swans used to try to land in fields of flax because from the air the fields looked like lakes of blue. The picture featured here is the logo of the Northern Ireland Assembly - based on the flax flower.
